Law No. 2026-470 of 11 June 2026
Following the agreement reached by the social partners on 25 February 2026, the bill required to implement shorter unemployment benefits after an individual mutual termination (rupture conventionnelle individuelle) was definitively adopted by Parliament on 2 June 2026.
After such a termination, the maximum benefit period will be set at 15 months for job seekers under 55 (against 18 months for other forms of contract termination) and at 20.5 months for those aged 55 and over (against 22.5 to 27 months depending on age).
The agreement must receive ministerial approval (agrément), before the new rules can apply.
