A specialist in employment law, Jean-Michel Mir has been a legal practitioner since 1986.
He is a partner and co-founder of Capstan. He advises and represents French and foreign groups (up to fifty percent of his focus) operating in various industry sectors.
His main fields of focus include:
- Labour aspects of M&A and restructuring transactions, both domestic and cross-border. Jean-Michel Mir’s expertise in this field is widely recognised and soundly established drawing from counsel and litigation services spanning more than 20 years, also demonstrated by the specialist articles and publications he has published on the subject.
- Collective bargaining agreements and working relations within companies with employee unions.
- Working hours.
- Employee savings and shareholding schemes.
Jean-Michel Mir is a member of Capstan’s Knowledge Council, a unit dedicated to promoting the unity of Capstan’s precepts and forward-thinking ethos, involving academics specialising in employment and other highly qualified personalities (e.g. former magistrates).
He is also one of the founders of Ius Laboris. Jean-Michel Mir also heads the alliance’s International Practice Group that handles restructuring and collective work relations and is comprised of various European firms from the network.
He lectures several classes at Montpellier I and II Universities and has written numerous articles on collective working relations, restructuring and corporate transfers as well as working hours.
Jean-Michel Mir holds a DJCE degree from the University of Montpellier.
